OUR COLOMBIAN BEANS — Huila Region (Gran Galope Program)
Gran Galope is our direct-trade commitment to the hardworking men and women operating ethical micro-farms across Colombia's coffee belt. These Excelso grade coffees (15/16 screen size) are sourced from 10–30 smallholder farmers per lot, cupped and evaluated in Pitalito (Huila), Popayán (Cauca), and Pasto and La Unión (Nariño). We buy more and pay more because these farmers deserve it, and because it shows up in your cup: a foundation of sweetness, fruity effervescence, and rich cocoa-toffee depth.
Process: Fully Washed | Varieties: Castillo, Caturra, Colombia
Elevation: 1400–2000 MASL | Region: Huila
Harvest: Oct–Dec (Main Crop), Jun–Aug (Fly Crop)
OUR GUATEMALAN BEANS — Huehuetenango Region (Waykan)
"Waykan" means "star, or light that shines in the sky at night" in the Maya Q'qnjobal dialect, a name that carries the weight of a community. The indigenous population of Huehuetenango has cultivated coffee for generations, and coffee accounts for roughly 80% of the local economy here. These are not anonymous beans, they are the livelihood of real families, and we source them with that responsibility in mind.
Their flavor profile brings crisp acidity reminiscent of lemon, grape, or apple, with a beautiful balance of toffee and sweet almond, the brightness that lifts Qué Chimba from bold to brilliant.
Process: Washed | Varieties: Bourbon, Catimor, Caturra, Maragogype, Pache
Elevation: 1400–2200 MASL | Region: Huehuetenango
Harvest: December–May
Our approach to sourcing has always been rooted in relationships. Long-standing partnerships with farmer partners across Latinoamérica that go far beyond a transaction. We are here for the long haul, for the communities, and for the craft. That's the Hola Coffee promise in every bag.
